Veganism and eating clean food is so popular these days. Of course, it’s beyond important for people to eat healthy by including fruits and vegetables into their diet as much as possible. What’s equally important is access to quality foods. Organic foods should be available to everyone, regardless of income or whether you live in a concrete food desert. SÜPRMARKT is an incredible local business determined to provide low-cost organic foods in the community. 

What SÜPRMARKT’s Bringing to LA!

SÜPRMARKT is a Black-women-owned business, founded by Olympia Auset. Olympia and her business have been featured in outlets like LA Times and Forbes. On Sunday, I went to The Underground Museum with my family to pick up a few veggies from the SÜPRMARKT pop-up store. I had the pleasure of meeting Olympia and some of her SÜPR team. She was so gracious and helpful!

My family of grown adults has started to cook homemade meals, each of us contributing one day of the week. Thinking of what we wanted to eat next, we thought to buy our produce from SÜPRMARKT. As I start to cook more, I love having this option to shop with SÜPRMARKT. The produce we bought was all under $20! They accept a generous number of payment options to accommodate their customers like SNAP and EBT. SÜPRMARKT also has a grocery delivery service with weekly and monthly subscription options.

SÜPRMARKT is currently in the process of opening their first location! Their campaign is called, “Keep Slauson Fresh: Save Mr. Wisdom’s.” They’re hoping to, “Save Slauson Blvd’s oldest organic option with SÜPRMARKT, South LA’s first organic produce service.” You can support them in their effort to bring a new grocery store to South LA through their Indiegogo.
