Slink Magazine Brings Style & Curvy Fashion to KTLA

KTLA News just got spicy and chic with its recent style segment with Slink Magazine. I know this is because I had the amazing opportunity to model one of five style selections! The segment was in honor of the plus-sized magazine’s 25th issue. This issue is special because it is the first time they’ll be in print at Barnes and Noble. Slink Magazine started online five years ago and now they are reaching new heights sharing season must-haves. Take a look below!

Slink Magazine’s KTLA Style Segment

After a string of emails, I got to meet the U.S. Editor of Slink Magazine, Renee Cafaro, and the other wonderful models at the KTLA Studios. It was truly a spectacular day, being able to wear one of Slink’s top five style recommendations. The KTLA crew were so welcoming and accommodating as well. Even though it was a bit nerve-wracking to be modeling on television, I knew I had nothing to really be nervous about. I was already there, wearing my killer outfit and Rihanna’s Griselda Mattemoiselle lipstick ― what did I have to fear? With that feeling of sheer confidence, it was simple for me to walk out onto the stage and serve some looks.

As you can tell by the diverse models, Slink Magazine sought to share styles that every woman can wear whether they’re a size 6 or 16. Above all else, the magazine heralds body positivity, making a statement that fashion is for everyone. The piece I wore consisted of a blazer by 11 Honore, another size inclusive brand. They recently had a fashion show featuring diverse models with Laverne Cox. For the pants, I wore a pair of Express fitted jeans (which fit me so well, I’m glad I got to keep them!).

As one of very few plus-sized fashion and body positivity focused magazines, Slink Magazine is making a wave in the industry. The magazine will be on Barnes and Noble bookshelves from its 25th issue onwards. You can find out where your copy is here. Candice Huffine is on the cover, while inside the magazine explores 25 inspirational people to follow for it’s “The Boss” edition.
